• The Institute of Catalysis (IC) at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS) was established in 1983 and has since developed into a leading center for catalytic research in the country and the Southeastern European region.

  • At IC, students and doctoral candidates from both Bulgaria and abroad are trained in the fields of “Chemical Kinetics and Catalysis” and “Solid State Chemistry.”

  • IC carries out projects under the framework of EU FP, the National Science Fund (NSF), NATO, UNIDO, UNESCO, and others.

  • The structure of IC includes 3 laboratories with 11 thematic groups.

  • The Institute of Catalysis serves as the headquarters of the „Bulgarian Catalysis Society“ and the Bulgarian EPR Society.
